If Good is Enemy of Great...

Jim Collins in his book "Good to Great", starts it saying "Good is the enemy of Great". A good statement to start, but not a good one to stay at...

For the longest, I have used this idea as a guideline in my life. During some opportunities where I have experienced growth in my level of awareness, I have come to a conclusion that this short statement is incomplete.

While starting with the idea of becoming great is a good place to start, it is not a good idea to keep for the long haul. Why? Because we may fall prey of the thought that we arrived, that we made it, that we got "there", and we may lose sight that there can be, and will be if we want, a BETTER place to be at.

BETTER then becomes more relevant than Great. We always can do better next time if we learn from both, our mistakes and our successes. Positive Psychology teaches us that we can learn from both if we want to.
